PROFILE
Academic Background and Awards
Professor Isaac Adebayo Adeyemi attended the University of Ibadan, Ibadan (1969 – 1973) and the University of Leeds, Leeds, UK (1974 – 1978). He holds the following qualifications: B.Sc. (Agriculture) Hons in Agricultural Biochemistry and Nutrition, Second Class Upper Division (1972); Post-Graduate Diploma in Nutrition (1973) and Ph.D. in Food Science (1978). He had his Post–Doctoral training in Cereal Technology at the Institute for Cereals, Flour and Bread, TNO, Wageningen, The Netherlands (March – June, 1980).
Professor Adeyemi is a recipient of the following awards: Nigerian Cocoa Marketing Board Scholarship Award (1971–1972); UNICEF Scholarship Award (1972–1973); Federal Government of Nigeria Postgraduate Scholarship Award (1974 – 1978); Dutch Fellowship Award (March–June, 1980) and the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU)/Carnegie Corporation Senior Fellowship Award, as Visiting Professor, University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada (July–November, 1993).
Academic and Administrative Accomplishments:
Professor Adeyemi started his academic career at the University of Ibadan as a Research Assistant (1973–1974) at the Food Science and Applied Nutrition Unit (now Department of Human Nutrition). He joined the then University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), Ile–Ife in 1978, as Lecturer II, and rose to the position of Reader in 1990. He transferred his service, in 1991 to Oyo State University of Technology, now Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, where he was appointed Professor of Food Science at the inception of the University in 1990.
Professor Adeyemi has successfully supervised over fifteen (15), thirteen (13) Masters and Ph.D. candidates, respectively. He has over one hundred and twenty (120) publications to his credit. His areas of research include Cereal Chemistry and Processing, Nutrition, Food Chemistry and Analysis, and Food Product Development.
He has attended and presented Papers in over fifty (50) Conferences and Workshops at home in Nigeria, and abroad in the United Kingdom, Czeschoslovakia, Swaziland, Ethiopia, Senegal, Japan, Ivory Coast and South Africa. Professor Adeyemi has at various times, served as a member, National Universities Commission (NUC) Accreditation / Resource Verification Panel to a good number of Universities in Nigeria; and as Consultant/Resource Person to several bodies and interview panels.
He has held various administrative positions within the University System, especially in LAUTECH, which include: Head of Department (O.A.U & LAUTECH); Dean, Postgraduate School; Managing Director (LAUTECH Ventures), Deputy Vice–Chancellor, Acting Vice-Chancellor and Member of University Governing Council. He assumed duty as Vice-Chancellor of Bells University of Technology, Ota in August 2006, a position he held for ten (10) years.

Professor Adeyemi is a life member, Board of Trustees of the Greener Environment and Materials Sustainability Initiative (GEMS) since 2014 and is current Chairman of the Governing Board of GEMS.
Professor Adeyemi has been a member of the Nutrition Committee, Nigerian Heart
Foundation (NHF) since 2010. He is currently Director, Scientific Affairs of the NHF.

Professional Accomplishments
Professor Adeyemi is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology (NIFST). He had served NIFST in various capacities: Chairman, Membership Committee; Council Member; Vice-President; and subsequently the President of the Institute, between 2008 and 2010.
He was elected Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Science in January 2012.
He retired formally from the services of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso in October, 2018.

Brief Profile of Prof. Chukwuemeka Diji
Prof. Chukwuemeka Diji, is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research, Innovation, Consultancy and Extension at the Kampala International University in Uganda (September 2019 – August, 2023). He currently serves as Academic Research Consultant at the Sustainable Futures Institute of Nexus International University, Kampala, Uganda and Board Director (African Sustainability H
ub) and Clean Technology Researcher/Expert for the Strategy & Ops Consultancy PTY Ltd, based in Australia.
Prof. Diji obtained a PhD in Mechanical Engineering with specialty in Energy Studies in 2008 and Masters of Science degree (MSc) in Mechanical Engineering in 1997 from the University of Ibadan and a Bachelor’s of Science (B.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering from the Obafemi Awolowo University (Formerly University of Ife) in 1987. In 1994, He was awarded the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) price for contribution to Engineering innovation in Nigeria, as part of the process of registration as a certified professional engineer with NSE/COREN. At the completion of his doctoral studies in January 2008, he received the University of Ibadan postgraduate school award for the best outstanding PhD thesis for the 2007/2008 academic session.
Prof. Diji is a Registered Professional and Chartered Engineer; licensed by the Council for the Regulations of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). He is also a Certified International Professional Manager (CIPM) of the International Professional Managers Association (IPMA – UK) ; Chartered Management Consultant (CMC) of the Chartered Institute of Management (CIMC), Canada; and Certified Research Management Professional (RMP) conferred by the International Professional Recognition Council (IPRC) and the International Network of Research Management Societies (INORMS).
Prof Diji has a professional postgraduate Diploma in Management Consultancy practice and Organizational Transformation from the International Professional Managers Association (IPMA – UK). He also has certification in “leading Effective teams in Climate Change Research” from Strathmore University, Kenya and Certification in “Development Project Grant Proposal Writing” and “Scientific Writing” from the African Climate Leadership Programme (AfriCLP). He also obtained certificate of competence in the following areas from the School of Business Sciences, University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa: Intellectual Property, Technology Transfer and Commercialization; Gender in Science, Technology and Innovation; Research Ethics and Integrity; Fundamentals of Research Management; Research Grants and Contract Management; and Programme Evaluation.
Before joining the university system in 1998; He served in the capacity of Production Engineer and Production Manager with the Leventis Group of Companies and Tolaram Clay Bricks (Nig,) limited both in Nigeria over a period of 10years from (September 1988 – December, 1997). He also served as a Lecturer, Senior Lecturer and Researcher at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Ibadan, Nigeria for a period of 21 years (January, 1998 – August, 2019) in various academic, research and administrative capacities. He served as Sub – Dean (Undergraduate) of the Faculty of Technology (2004 – 2006), Deputy Director for the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (2009 – 2014), Head of department of Mechanical Engineering (2015 – 2017) and Head of Renewable Energy and Climate Research group at the Centre for Petroleum, Energy, Economics and Law (CPEEL), a MacArthur foundation funded Centre of Excellence.
Professor Diji is a Climate change Researcher and African Climate Research Fellow of AfriCLP (2017 – 2020) and expert reviewer for African Academy of Sciences (AAS). He is also an expert Reviewer for the Climate Research for Development (CRAD) programme initiated by the African Academy of Science (AAS), the UK Department of International Development (DFID), Weather and Climate Information Services for Africa (WISER) and the African Climate Policy Centre (ACPC) of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA).
Professor Diji is a Nominated expert on the roaster of experts of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and Selected Expert Reviewer of the AR6 Synthesis Report by the Intergovernmental Panel for Climate Change (IPCC). He is an Institutional focal lead for the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Solution Network (SDSN) and member and African lead for the Council of Engineers on the Energy Transition (CEET), an independent advisory council to the Secretary General of the UN. He is Listed on the Global South Climate Database, as an expert in the fields of climate science, policy and energy. The project was set up by Carbon Brief with the support of the Reuters Institute Oxford Climate Journalism Network. Carbonbrief.org/global-south-climate-database. He is also listed as African climate expert, on Africa Group of Negotiators Expert Support (AGNES) database of African climate change experts, professionals and specialists across various discipline in Africa. Prof Diji is an Appointed Member, of International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Commission on Environmental, Economic and Social Policy (CEESP), for the quadrennial period (2021 – 2025) and Member, Independent Global Stocktake, West Africa. The Independent Global Stocktake (iGST) is a consortium of civil society actors working together to support the Global Stocktake (GST) the formal process established under the Paris Agreement (PA) to evaluate progress on climate action at the global level and identify overall gaps to achieve the PA as well as opportunities to bridge them.
He is the Chair of the African Research Council on Sustainable Development (ARSCD) and Professional Research Council Member of the International Institute for Policy Review and Development Strategies (IIPRDS). He is a member of the West African Research Management Association (WARIMA) and member of Responsible Research and Innovation Group (RRING) community Network of Ireland.
Professor Diji has competencies in Energy Studies; Biomedical Engineering; Thermal Fluids and Solid Mechanics; Environmental Studies and Climate Change; Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development, as well as in Social Business and Social Entrepreneurship. He also has excellent proficiency in written and spoken English, including the ability to write summaries, notes and drafts. He is also proficient in managing spreadsheets and databases including development of databases and/or information systems.
Prof Diji is a member of Board of Trustees of Greener Environment and Materials Sustainability Initiative (GEMS) and member of the African Roundtable on Sustainable Consumption and Production (ARSCP) both in the Nigeria Chapter and at the African Regional Level.

Emeritus Prof Joseph Chukwugozien Igbeka, PhD, FNSE, FNSAE
EngrProf Joe Igbeka is an Emeritus Professor of Agricultural and Environmental Engineering in the Department of Agricultural and Environmental Engineering, University of Ibadan.
Prof Igbeka received his BSc (Hons) and MSc from the Israel Institute of Technology (Technion), Haifa, Israel and his PhD from the Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, USA all in the field of Agricultural Engineering.
He spent 31 years as a Lecturer in the University of Ibadan out of which he was full Professor for 24 years. He was the Dean of the Faculty of Technology (1992-96) and Head of Department (1986 -1988 and 2001 -2004) all in the University of Ibadan.
After his retirement in 2008, he took up contract appointment with Olabiisi Onabanjo University (Ibogun Campus),Ogun State and was Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for about two years. He was Contract Professor of Agricultural and Environmental Engineering, at the Niger Delta University, Wilberforce Island, Bayelsa State (2011-2016) before returning again to the University of Ibadan as a Contract Professor.
Emeritus Professor Igbeka has been a Consultant to the Federal Government of Nigeria, UNDP, FAO, UNESCO, IDRC and some other bodies in Nigeria. He is still a very active researcher, teacher and Consultant. He has more than 110 publications in national and international journals and Proceedings including two good textbooks on Introduction to Agricultural Power Systems (2010) and Agricultural Processing and Storage Engineering (2013).
